Visit the Hudson’s bohemian side to savor local food, wines, and whiskey–and explore natural open spaces with an abundance of outdoor adventures. It’s all just 90 minutes from New York City. There’s enough here to keep you busy for a week, but if you have only one night in the area like we did at Buttermilk Falls, here are a few highlights of what to do…

Brunch at the Village Tea Room

Tour and tasting at Tuthillown Spirits (unless whiskey’s not your thing… in that case, check out the Shawangunk wine trail)

Stroll through New Paltz: Don’t miss a coffee at the Mudd Puddle and a stroll through the Water Street Market
Bike or hike the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail

Explore Rosendale (Insider tip: a brand new hotel just opened there this weekend… more to come on that)

This looks like an awesome place go for a weekend getaway! I love the electrical wire hanging over the street— such an old town, small town feel. I love that kind of thing.
It really is a great place! I can’t wait to go back!
great photos! hope you loved our “home away from home” as much as we do!
I did love it! I definitely want to spend more time there!
