We’re back from our first family trip by plane and we had a wonderful time at the Jalousie Plantation (sunset view above) in Saint Lucia! Baby E loved the sand, eventually got used to the water, and waved hello to pretty much everyone on the beach. If you’re looking for a memorable Caribbean getaway, I can’t recommend Saint Lucia highly enough. Stay tuned for lots of insider tips over the next couple weeks and a full trip report. In the meantime, feel free to leave any specific questions you have about traveling with kids in the comments section and I’ll try to answer them in coming posts. Thanks!
We’re back!

Hi! I’m taking our first plane trip with our daughter who will be 3 months at the time. We’re going on our yearly escape from the NY winter trip to Puerto Rico and we’re planning on renting a condo this year so we have access to a kitchen and washer/dryer to make it easier with a baby. My question is, what do you recommend we do for sleeping? We normally have her sleep in the Fisher Price Rock and Play, which she loves. When i put her in her crib she usually wakes herself up after a short while, even if she’s swaddled. My mom suggested just checking the Rock and Play since it folds flat, but it’s still pretty cumbersome to travel with, especially considering all the other things we’ll be needing for her like the carseat and stroller base. Would love any suggestions for how to make packing and travelling easier with an infant!
Hi Jordan! Thanks for writing with this great question. I’ll address it in a post later this week or early next. Stay tuned!
