Dining out: The best portable highchair

by parenture on May 31, 2011

Close this windowNow that Baby E’s eating 3 meals a day and wants to pick up most of her food, a portable highchair has become a necessity. About a week ago, I read about the on-the-go self-inflating booster seat on Yumnums, and decided to give it a try this weekend, which we spent with friends in Saratoga Springs, NY. Gotta say, I’m pretty impressed. Compact, lightweight, and less than $20, it definitely does the job. The seat deflates and folds up into its own square pouch, then inflates and straps onto any chair. Just put a disposable placemat on the table, add some chopped food, and it’s time to wish baby bon appetit!

While we’re on the topic of eating on the go, one of Baby E’s favorite foods right now is zucchini. She loves it steamed and cut into bite-sized pieces for lunch or dinner, but it was also a breakfast hit in these delicious zucchini muffins! Easy to make, they travel well and are relatively healthy because the recipe calls for whole-wheat flour and agave nectar instead of sugar. They’re a good choice to bring for a long weekend away.

PS. Don’t forget about our awesome beach bag giveaway! Today’s the last day to enter, and you could win $250 toward a summer vacation.

So glad the booster worked out for your guys! I was skeptical at first, but am a total convert now. It is so so so much smaller than other “portable” high chairs, and great for the well-traveled baby.
